Joel Yu

Joel Yu began his career at Con Edison nearly a decade ago as a management associate in the company’s Growth Opportunities for Leadership Development (GOLD) program. Since then, he’s held positions of increasing responsibility, proving himself to be a valuable asset in multiple parts of the organization.

For the past three years, Joel has held the position of project manager in the Energy Markets and Policy Group where he develops and advocates for company energy policy positions on wholesale electric and gas pipeline matters. Along with members of the company’s law department, he has negotiated complex gas pipeline rate settlements, achieving more than $10 million in supply portfolio savings through 2022 for Con Edison and Orange and Rockland customers. Most recently, Joel spent two months on assignment as communications lead on the corporate pandemic team, overseeing the development of various notifications and communications to employees.

Joel also supports the development of new management associates in the company’s GOLD Program and mentors local college students through the company’s scholarship program. Joel earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University. In 2016, he completed a Master of Business Administration at New York University. He has a wife and three daughters, and he is a deacon at the Korean Church of Westchester. At KCW, he leads community development efforts, serves as a mentor for high school students and leads international and domestic mission trips.
