Has your heart been calling out for you to make a change? Are you feeling compelled to do something with more meaning and purpose? Living a more fulfilling life means taking the time to invest in yourself and that dream you've had on the back burner. It takes one step to change your life in ways you've never imagined and you will know unlimited joy, freedom, peace and satisfaction. Imagine that!
Listening to your heart-voice is always the very first step in finding your purpose. And a close second step is making the commitment to it. I capitalized the word Commitment there because it's vital to understand how significant this word is. Your unwavering devotion to your goal combined with a deep desire to find a way to make it happen have the extraordinary power to bring your dream to fruition. Believe me, I know this takes practice and . . . Commitment!
Making the commitment to transform your life into a more fulfilling one doesn’t mean everything will fall into place with ease. Unfortunately, fear, uncertainty and anxiety take hold of your body from time to time. However, you’ll find that when your actions are “on purpose,“ incredible surprises will fall into your lap to appease the doubt. Don’t be surprised by shocking gifts from out of nowhere!
Whether you jump off the corporate ladder, change your life in another way, or simply make a commitment to try something new, fear will creep into your brain and your body. If your heart is crystal clear, put it in the driver’s seat. Your brain will figure out how to make peace with it and help you thrive under these new circumstances.
For more than 20 years I've had this promise to myself framed and on my desk and I offer it to you below. Take some time to read and reread this promise. Next week I'll offer a few exercises to help you use your commitment to take the first steps to finding and living your purpose.
If you’d like to share, I’d love to know the purpose you’ve committed to this year! Email me anytime with your thoughts at Gen@Genevievepiturro.com
Commitment
Until one is committed There is hesitancy, the chance to drawback Always ineffectiveness.
Concerning all acts of initiative and Creation,
There is one elementary truth The ignorance which kills countless ideas and
splendid plans: That the moment that one definitely
commits oneself then Providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help one That would never otherwise have occurred.
A whole stream of events issues from the decision Raising in one’s favor all manner Of unforeseen incidents and meetings And material substance Which no one could have dreamt Would have come your way.
Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.
